What Banjo is

Banjo is a private family calendar for a household’s wall screen and phones. Only people a household invites can sign in, and each household sees only its own data.

What we collect

  • Your name and email address from Google when you sign in.
  • The family details you enter: household name, home town, time zone, the people in your family and their settings.
  • Calendar events from the Google calendars you choose, and the events you add or change in Banjo.

Google data

With your permission Banjo reads your list of calendars, and reads and writes events on the calendars you pick, so the wall and Google Calendar stay in step. Banjo never asks for access to Gmail, contacts or Drive.

Banjo’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google data is used only to show and sync your family’s calendar. It is never sold, never used for advertising, and never used to train AI models.

Where it is stored

Data is stored with Supabase (database and sign-in) and served by Vercel, both in the United States. Google access tokens are encrypted at rest. Data moves only over HTTPS.

Who can see it

Only the parents and devices in your household. Events you mark private show as busy to everyone else and their details stay with you. We do not share your data with anyone else, except where the law requires it.

Removing your data

You can remove Banjo’s access to Google at any time from your Google Account’s security page, under third-party connections. Settings › Reset household deletes every event, person and setting in Banjo and revokes Banjo’s access to Google. Your Google calendars keep their events.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date above changes with it.
